Are you stuck at home but don't want to tag your location? You can use location tags on Instagram to make it seem like you're in places that you're not, especially funny places like Bikini Bottom or Luke's Diner. This wikiHow article lists some ideas that you can use for funny Instagram locations and this guide covers how to tag locations in the mobile app.
Things You Should Know
- Create funny locations on Instagram to engage your followers and maybe gain some new ones!
- If a location exists, you can tag it in your Stories by using the Location sticker or in your posts and reels by tapping "Add location."
- Add new locations using the Facebook mobile app and check in to your location.
Steps
Section 2 of 4:
Using Location Tags
-
Open Instagram and create your post. Tap the icon that looks like a camera lens on a gradient orange and pink background to launch the mobile app. Tap + centered at the bottom of your screen and then tap Reel , Post , or Story from the dial to select the content you want to upload.
- Adding a geotag to your Instagram post or Story increases the organic engagement rates, so more people have the probability to see it. For example, if you tag something as "Bikini Beach" people looking for Spongebob, cartoons, or beaches will find your post! Even funny geotags like "Feed Me Now" can get the attention of fellow foodies, and if they appreciate your humor, they may even follow you!
-
Geotag your post. This will only work for locations that exist, like Nowhere, Oklahoma, but the way you add a location tag varies depending on the type of post you're uploading. You can also use tags like "The Forrest Moon of Endor", which isn't actually a place that exists, but it's a location tag already on Instagram for you to use.
- If you're uploading a Story, tap the Sticker icon, then tap the Location sticker and enter your location.
- If you're uploading a reel or post, tap the Add location field and enter the location.
-
Upload it. Tap Share or Your Story to finalize your post and share it.
- Adding a location tag to your post on Instagram increases its chances of being discovered by a wider audience. [1] X Research source
