Maybe you’re on a quest to earn every badge in “99 Nights in the Forest,” or maybe you just saw the Humiliation Badge in the Badge Menu and are curious about it. Unlike other badges, this one doesn’t have much information about it: the instructions just say to “Complete a secret action.” We’re here to break down exactly how you can earn this badge —and how to show it off once you get it.
How do you get the Humiliation Badge in “99 Nights in the Forest”?
To get the Humiliation Badge, use 5 logs and 1 piece of scrap metal to upgrade your crafting table to level 2, then craft a bear trap with 3 more pieces of scrap metal. Place the bear trap on the ground and walk into it. Reset the trap and keep repeating until you die, and you’ll be awarded Humiliation.
Steps
Getting the Humiliation Badge in “99 Nights”
-
Collect at least 5 logs and 4 pieces of metal. Once you join a round, equip your Old Axe and start chopping down trees. You’ll need 5 logs to get the Humiliation Badge. Also, explore the map to look for metal objects you can turn into scrap metal, like bolts, sheet metal, and broken fans. You’ll need a total of 4 pieces of scrap. [1] X Research source
- Bolts and scrap metal are the most common metal objects—these are worth 1 piece of scrap each. Broken fans are worth 3 scrap and can usually be found inside buildings early in the game.
- When you hover over a metal object, the number of bolts above the name shows you how many pieces of scrap metal that item is worth.
- If you’re having trouble finding metal objects, add wood to your campfire to upgrade it. This will open more of the map, so you’ll have more buildings to explore. You’ll probably also need to feed wood to the fire to keep it from going out.
-
2Put 1 metal object and 5 logs into the crafting bench. Equip your sack, then drop the items directly into the grinder to load them into the crafting bench. Keep in mind that the default Old Sack can only hold 5 items, so you’ll need to make more than one trip unless you’ve found the upgraded Good Sack. [2] X Research source
- When you put metal objects into the grinder, they will be turned into scrap metal and automatically added to the crafting bench.

3Upgrade your crafting bench to Level 2. Stand next to the crafting menu and open the crafting bench. Choose Crafting Bench 2—the option is unlocked as soon as you start the game, so you’ll be able to craft it as soon as you have the supplies. Once you’re ready, press the green CRAFT button. [3] X Research source
- If you’re missing any items, the number of the item will be red. Once you have enough crafting supplies, the number will turn white.
- If you look at the side of the crafting bench (without opening the crafting menu), you’ll see the total number of items you’ve added so far.
-
4Craft a bear trap with the Lvl 2 crafting bench. Add 3 more pieces of scrap metal to the crafting bench. Open the crafting menu, then choose bear trap and press the green CRAFT button. [4] X Research source
- The bear trap is considered a tool, so it will be added to your hot bar—not your sack.
-
5Place the bear trap on the ground near you. Equip the bear trap from your hotbar. Move until the outline of the bear trap is green (if it’s red, you won’t be able to put it down). Place the trap on the ground somewhere close to you. [5] X Research source
-
6Walk into the trap over and over until you die. Walk onto the trap—it will snap shut. Press the Set Trap button and let it close on you again. You should see your health bar drop each time the trap closes. Keep setting the trap and taking damage until your character dies. [6] X Research source
- It’s easiest to do this if you just stand on top of the trap. As soon as you set it, it will snap shut again automatically. But if you notice at some point that you aren’t taking damage, walk off of the trap, set it, and walk over it again.
- Be sure you don’t die from hunger or an attack. You have to actually die due to damage from the trap to get the badge.
- After you die, you may notice a pop-up that says you’ve earned the Humiliation Badge.
-
7Go back to the lobby and collect your badge. After you die, let the “99 Nights” lobby load again. Look for the Badge Menu—it will look like an award, and it should have an exclamation point. The Badge Menu will show you any badges you’ve earned that you haven’t claimed yet. The Humiliation Badge looks like a gray circle with a question mark in it. Click the green “CLAIM” button to obtain it.
- You’ll receive 4 diamonds for earning the Humiliation Badge.
