Playing as Spider-Man

  1. Spider-Man is a character who has low health. If you jump right into battle with a group of enemies or with larger Vanguard-class enemies, you probably will not survive. Look for openings. Get in, do a quick combo, and then use Web Swing to get out.
  2. 2
Stay agile. Since Spider-Man has low health, you want to make sure you are always on the move to avoid taking damage. Use Web Swing to move around quickly. Make yourself a difficult target. Know the maps so you know where to travel.
  3. 3
Plan your attack. Spider-Man is best at performing ambush attacks. Look for a lone strategist (support) or dualist class player and try to ambush from behind or flank them from the side. Once you take out the support characters, you can attempt to take on the stronger enemies. Stay agile in any fight situation.
  4. 4
Lead opponents with your Web Clusters. Your Web Cluster attack is pretty slow. Instead of aiming directly at an opponent, aim at where they are moving towards.
  5. 5
Disable Simple Swing. When Simple Swing is enabled, Spider-Man will automatically lock onto an anchor point when performing Web Swing. When Simple Swing is disabled, you will have to aim for a spot to attach your webs when doing Web Swing. It also allows you to attach to walls and pull yourself forward quickly. This gives you more control. It is recommended that you start off with Simple Swing enabled, and then disable it as you get more comfortable playing as Spider-Man.
    • To disable Simple Swing, open the Settings menu on the main title screen. Select Controller and then select the Combat tab at the top. Select where it says All Heroes at the top. Then select Spider-Man to adjust the settings specific to Spider-Man. Additionally, you can enable "Hold to Swing," which will allow you to swing for as long as you hold the button down and stop swinging when you release the button. You can also do the same for Wall Crawl and Run on Walls.
  6. 6
Maintain the high ground. Spider-Man will be much more effective at observing the battle and planning attacks from a higher vantage point. This will also make him a harder target to hit. Stick to higher levels of the map and use Spider-Man’s Wall Crawl ability to stay above the fray.
  7. Spider-Man’s special does a lot of damage and has the ability to stun nearby enemies. It is a great special. Use it to attack groups of enemies (especially if you can sneak in from behind). You can also use it to stun nearby enemies and make an escape. [2]
