    Community Answer
Yes, if you practice and challenge yourself to more difficult methods.
  • Question
Is there anyone who can solve a Rubik's Cube in 1 second?
    Itz Kool
    Community Answer
There are quite a few robots that can solve the Rubik's Cube under 1 second. However, there are no humans who can solve a 3x3 in 1 second. The world record is now held by Yusheng Du with a time of 3.47 seconds.
  • Question
How can you solve a Rubik's cube in under 10 seconds?
    Community Answer
Use the CFOP method, then you can solve by looking for a cross solution. This usually takes six moves. Also look for an f2l pair. When you start the timer and you do what you planned then just finish the remaining f2l slots looking ahead and avoiding cube rotations. Then do a fast and easy all for OLL and another alternative for OLL.
  • Question
Which is the fasted method to solve a cube?
    Community Answer
Any method has the potential to be the fastest, depending on the solver, but Roux or CFOP is probably the fastest. The slowest is probably Petrus. ZZ has excellent potential, but it is probably the least developed, and least studied.
  • Question
How can I solve Rubik's cube in less than 40 second with an easy technique?
    Karley Snyder
    Community Answer
First, don't worry so much about the timing. Try practicing basic techniques, and watch tutorials in order to understand the basics. Once you nail the basics, try some of the above tips on how to improve your speed. You can start by timing yourself and gradually shedding off a few seconds at a time. Soon you will be solving puzzles in less than 40 seconds!
  • Question
    What is looking ahead?
    Community Answer
Looking ahead is figuring out your next algorithm while executing the current algorithm.
  • Question
    Are Rubik's cubes boring?
    Community Answer
It depends on your interests. Some people really enjoy doing them.
  • Question
Can you solve a cube in 50 moves?
    Karley Snyder
    Community Answer
Every position of the Rubik's cube can be solved in 20 moves or less. No position will require 50 moves to complete the cube.
  • Question
How do I complete this in under a minute?
    JoshuaTheDare
    Community Answer
First of all, the hardware is important. It is very hard to solve a really slow turning cube in under a minute, no matter the method. Great cubes I recommend are the Moyu Weilong and also the Moyu Aolong V2. Once you've done that, practice as much as you can. I understand that you might not have a lot of time so in your spare time practice. After you have become around average 40 seconds learn full f2l, OLL, and Pll.
  • Question
I'm a beginner. Can I learn to be an expert in 3 weeks?
    Itz Kool
    Community Answer
It will take around a month to memorize the beginner's method. After you learn it, you should start on speed solving methods. It depends on how long it takes to learn - different methods take different lengths of time to learn.
  • Question
Can I solve a Rubik's cube in under 10 seconds using the beginner's method?
    Community Answer
No. You need to use an advanced method like CFOP, roux, or ZZ. The normal time for the beginner's method is 25 seconds to 1 minute, so you will need to practice an advanced method if you want to get faster.
  • Question
How can I solve a Rubik's cube in under 10 seconds?
    Community Answer
Using all of the steps above and a lot of practice (yes, I mean a lot; it doesn't come easily). Things like getting the right cube and using the quickest method also contribute to your time.
  • Question
I use Cfop and even then I average 70 seconds. My personal best is 50.62 seconds. Once I counted my moves, and I was surprised to see I took around 110 moves, which was ridiculous. How can I decrease my move count to around 56?
    Community Answer
Try to learn advance Fridrich and practice. Get a good and reasonable cube like Valk3, MOYU Goulong.
  • Question
Where can I buy a good quality cube if I am living in the Philippines?
    Karley Snyder
    Community Answer
Try searching for a cube on the internet. Search for brands like Rubik’s, Moyu, YJ, Dayan, Shengshou or Fangshi (Funs puzzle). Stores that sell toys and games should also carry a quality cube.
  • Question
What is the easiest method to solve the cube?
    Community Answer
The easiest is the beginner’s method, also known as the layer-by-layer method, which you can easily find online.
  • Question
Would you recommend a GAN 365x (currently proved at $61)?
    Community Answer
Unless you are a top level speed-solver, I would recommend a lower priced cube to start out with. Try the Yuxin Little Magic.
  • Question
Are corner twists allowed for a 2x2?
    Community Answer
No. You cannot corner twist any puzzle to help you solve it. You could only ever do so if you accidentally turned one and have to undo it.
  • Question
How fast can a Rubik’s Cube be solved?
    Daniel Martinez
    Community Answer
It depends on how quickly your brain reacts to the move sequence you perform. Some speed-cubers say that they move faster than their brains can process. The fastest 3x3 Rubik's Cube as of now is 3.47 seconds by Yusheng Du. Just memorize the most comfortable and fastest method you are solving with.
  • Question
I can solve my Rubik's Cube in 25 seconds. How can I get faster?
    Community Answer
25 seconds is already really good. You can practice more often to attempt to get faster, but at some point you'll reach a physical limit and your speed will plateau.
  • Question
Can you still solve a Rubik cube when you solve on color of the Rubik 's cube? Because I was watching the VikingS finals and Felix Sanders just solved a color then goes on to solving the whole thing.
    Lily
    Community Answer
Yes, it is called CFOP. It is a different way to solve the cube. You start with the cross but then solve the first two layers at once.
  • Question
If I practice as hard as I can and still can barely solve it in under 2 minutes what do I do?
    Luke Pierce
    Community Answer
Look up a tutorial for beginner's intuitive F2L on YouTube. A great source of cubing tutorials is the channel J Perm. Also, it might help to use a better cube like the MoYu RS3M 2020 or using a lubricant like SpeedCubeShop.com's Cosmic Cube Lubricants.
  • Question
How can you become sub 20?
    Tjomas
    Community Answer
You can become sub 20-seconds at solving the cube by doing the beginner method, but it is hard and it is much better to do the CFOP method. You probably need to learn most of the algorithms to get sub 20-seconds, though, and there are around a hundred. Also, use a fast cube and try to develop finger tricks.
  • Question
I average around 30 seconds. I use 2-look OLL and PLL and have a good cube, so why can't I get better times?
    Chris Treco
    Community Answer
30 seconds is a really good time! But the reason you can't get faster is because you use 2-look OLL and PLL. Learn full OLL and PLL to get faster.
