  • Question
I have a 3.6 NiMH battery pack with 3 batteries inside. Can I open it and use one of the batteries?
    Community Answer
It's not a great idea unless you know what you are doing. But if it's a functional pack you should be able to extract a functional cell. Be warned that packs may be made with cells that are not a typical consumer size, e.g. AA, and the contacts/terminals may be spot welded together. If you pierce the cells or damage a contact while disassembling, you could create a dangerous or just plain useless dead battery.

It probably depends on the charger, but if it was only a few seconds, it should be fine.
  • Question
I have a Hitec x4 charger. What does 'Charged capacity' mean? Does the number have one decimal place or two?
    Gorgeous
    Community Answer
Charged capacity is how much capacity the battery has when fully charged. It's measured in milliamp hours, or mAh. 1000 mAh is 1 amp hour, and that means that the battery can provide 1 amp for 1 hour or 2 amps for 30 minutes.
  • Question
Does charging two batteries take the same amount of electricity as charging four batteries?
    Gorgeous
    Community Answer
No. If you have two AA batteries in one charger, the electricity will be split evenly between the batteries. If you have four, it's split even more, and it takes more electricity to charge them. It's healthier for the batteries to receive less electricity in a given amount of time, so charge more batteries at once if possible.
