  • Question
Would I be known soon after using these tips?
    Community Answer
Becoming famous on YouTube is a long process. You won't get millions of views in one day unless you upload a viral video, but they are impossible to predict ahead of time.. Most YouTubers and Let's Players have been working on their channels for many years before gaining the millions of followers they have today.
  • Question
How do I go about asking for rights for games such as Fallout, Fnaf, or others?

For most games, you won't need rights for the footage. The in-game music, however, could be copyrighted so make sure you check beforehand and disable the music if it is copyrighted.
  • Question

  • Question
How much does a recording system cost?
    Community Answer
A recording system can cost anywhere between free and 100's of pounds/dollars. For example, you could pay for fraps or use the free version of bandicam.
  • Question
How do I know if it is legal to upload gameplay footage?
    Community Answer
The best way is to check for any clauses in the game's EULA (End-User License Agreement) regarding the use of imagery and audio from the specific game you want to record. The EULA can usually be found on the game's official website, or sometimes when you first start up the game.
  • Question
How do I put myself in the corner of the screen?
    Community Answer
One way of doing this is to record a separate video of your webcam, recording your face. Then, in editing you can add the video into the game-play and scale it down and put it in the corner of your video.
  • Question
How do I find the video that I just filmed?
    Community Answer
Different recording programs will use different directories. Check the Settings or Preferences menu to see if the capture directory is listed. You can also perform a search for the video name on your computer to find it.
  • Question
How do I capture footage of a handheld console well?
    Community Answer
A capture card is the best option. You just plug it into your computer and then into your console and then start recording.
  • Question
What's a good app to download for gamers that are just starting in the Let's Play community?
    Community Answer
If you want to record your screen, a simple, easy software to use is camstudio. That is what I use.
  • Question
I have a bad PC. Can I still make videos?
    Community Answer
Depends on how "bad" your PC is. Editing can push your hardware pretty hard. Having recording software run simultaneously along with the game can do the same. Finally there's the game itself; if it's a game with high-end graphics that require a beast of a machine, you might end up with choppy frame rates, or toned-down graphics that look like mashed potatoes. So, in a nutshell, you can record, but editing will take much longer, and video may end up being poor quality. If you enjoy it, though, do it! Think about upgrading if you continue to enjoy it.
  • Question
How do I make a Let's Play without being a cliche?
    Community Answer
It's pretty hard to be 'cliche' in an LP. I've seen lots, and they're all different. But here are some tips: Don't write a script. A script will make the video seem cliche, and, well, scripted. Also, don't exaggerate your reactions--just be yourself. People can totally tell when you're scripting a reaction, and when you're being real. Then, it's automatically not cliche.
  • Question
Is it necessary to do commentary on Let's Play? I am bit shy.
    Community Answer
Most of the time, yes. Live reactions and speaking are essential for keeping your audience watching. Without a commentary, it's basically just some text on the screen while a video game plays in the background.
  • Question
How do I edit a video on my phone?
    Miran Firdausi
    Community Answer
There are many applications available on the Play store app like Vimady and Inshot, which allow you to add various effects, texts and subtitles, stickers etc. to your video for free. You can also purchase the Pro version to get many extra features.
  • Question
How do I capture myself on a video while recording live so that it shows both the game and me in a corner somewhere?
    Tim Wilson
    Community Answer
If you are trying to record everything live (like streaming), the best way is to use software like OBS/streamlabs. You can set it to record and choose where you want your face cam and the game play. If you are choosing to make videos to upload later, you can record each bit separately (the voice audio, the face cam and the gameplay) and put them all together using video editing software after recording.
