Do packs with gx's have diffrences from ones that dont contain any??

In the first few years of pokemon, this was easy; get a weight, and weigh 2 packs against each other. The heavier one contains the rarer cards. However, that does not still work. Not only that, but you look mischievous doing it, so I made a strategy; take off about half of the packs and pick the one in the middle, then either go for the one at the back and/or the one in between the first stack you made. My experiences with it result in at least 1 GX/EX from the packs I buy, but your luck may be different so, just a suggestion.

Are elite trainer boxes worth the GX's, considering I've gotten three rainbow rare GX's from the Shining legends box.

The factory sealed boxes not really unless you're actually playing. Non-factory sealed yes. Reason being that the cards have only been seen by the manufacturer (who won't be talking to you anytime soon). So, just get cards from the set you're looking for, but with your case, you may be very lucky.

Really, if you want valuable cards in general, go for the sets no one is interested in (examples of sets like this would include Call of Legends and Steam Siege) and try to pull/buy the rarest cards in the set (top 15 in value is my metric).
