You can, but I would only brush it every other day or so. You should not brush your afro if it's not wet; it can lead to damage and hair loss. The best way is to brush/comb your hair while it's wet, like when you're in the shower, and make sure you have some kind of product so you don't damage your hair.

It depends on what type of hair you have and if it's made for that. But if you want to try, Step 1: You braid your hair (This is only for overnight). Step 2: Use a scarf to maintain your braids (Better if you use satin scarves). Step 3: In the morning you take out your braids and try to fluff your hair into an afro.

  • Question
How do I know when to comb or pick out my Afro?
    Community Answer
Whenever your Afro is EXTREMELY tangled, then it's time to whip out the detangler and start combing with a wide tooth comb. You should not comb your hair every day because your hair will fall out, but every once in a while it should be combed. Remember, Afro hair is naturally tangled, so don't comb your whole head as soon as you see a knot.
  • Question
On my hair I can't see when I have split ends. What do I do?
    Ruth Nomah
    Community Answer
Look at the tips. I know it sounds plain, but it's not as simple as that. This is how you do it. With your hair untangled take a tail comb, and using the tail part a section of your hair. Now with the teeth comb from the roots down to the end, but stop at the ends. Raise your hair to the lights where you can see it and examine. Do this on the back, left, right and front. If there are no split ends still just trim it anyways at least once in five months. It puts you on the safe side.

If you mean you had them when you were little and they disappeared, that is normal and there is a good chance you will not get them back.
