To apply varnish on top of paint, make sure the paint is dry. Use a paint brush to add one thin layer of varnish and let it dry. To add a second and third coat, let the varnish dry, sand the piece down with fine-grit sandpaper and add another thin coat of varnish.

Can I paint a stainless steel sink and use it?

The challenge with painting a stainless steel sink is that if it is still used as a sink, water pressure may wear the paint off. You could try varnishing the paint well after, using a waterproof sealant and hope that works well. If the sink is to be used for something else though, like for storage, as a planter or other use, then painting it should be fine but still use a strong sealant to prevent paint chipping.

Is it possible to paint my stove white and have it hold up to the heat of cooking?
