  • Question
Whenever I'm playing the F scale, I have trouble making my high E sound good. What should I do?
    Community Answer
Keep a really fast air stream. Keep a good embouchure, and don't close your throat. Try adjusting your air stream and the shape of your mouth until you get it out well. Then memorize how your mouth feels when you play it. Tuning your instrument may also help.

There might be a leak in your flute. Take it to a repairs person or talk to your band director or flute teacher for advice on the flute's soundness.
  • Question
Whenever I try and play an F sharp on my flute, it only sounds like an F. I don't know what to do!
    Tutti Flutey

First check if your fingering is right. It should be (LH) 123 | (RH) 34 (4 is a pinkie). Try playing your F then F sharp. If the issue persists talk to a repair specialist.

  • Question
I can't really do the high D, it doesn't come out sounding like a D. But, if I play normal D but as a high D, it sounds fine. Which one is right?
    Community Answer
Make sure you’re using the right fingering. Normal D should look like T⚪️⚫️⚫️|⚫️⚫️⚫️P High D should look like T⚪️⚫️⚫️|⚪️⚪️⚪️P (T for thumb and P for pinky).
