The basics are always same though: for a normal counter backhand, you want to start with your racquet at about table height and sideways, then brush over the top of the ball while striking it forwards to give it topspin. You can also turn your wrist a bit during this stroke to generate sidespin, though it's easy to lose control as a beginner.
