  • Question
How long will chopped celery last in the fridge?
    Community Answer
It will last several weeks if you store it using the water method. If you just store it in a container, and it's cut, it could go bad in a couple days.
  • Question
How long does celery keep its nutrient value?
    Community Answer
Try to eat the celery within 5 to 7 days if you want to make sure it retains its maximum nutrient value.
  • Question
Should celery be washed before storing it in the fridge?
    Community Answer
Yes, it should be washed before you eat it.
  • Question
I forgot to refrigerate celery I bought yesterday. Is it still good?
    Community Answer
Refrigeration helps celery stay fresh longer, but celery does not have to be kept refrigerated for food safety. As long as the celery still looks and smells fresh, it should still be good to eat. Make sure to wash the celery carefully before eating it.
  • Question
Can celery be juiced after freezing or storing in water
    Community Answer
Yes, it will be fine juiced. It goes well with a carrot, a pear and a green apple to make a delicious juice.
  • Question
Do I wrap the celery stalk unwashed or washed in aluminum foil for storage?
    Torpi
    Top Answerer
Either way is fine (as long as you remember to wash it later, if you do it unwashed), but washed celery will stay fresh for longer if it is dried before being wrapped in foil.
  • Question
The only good celery I can find now is in those party packs with compartments for different veggies. Why is that ?
    Torpi
    Top Answerer
Celery is seasonal - in areas with cooler summers it's best in summer, and in areas with hot summers it's best in the fall. Perhaps it was out of season when this question was asked. Grocery store supply is also affected by weather, supply chain disruptions, farm problems, etc.
  • Question
Can I cut the celery and place it in water for 3 to 4 hours in room temperature before eating it?
    Torpi
    Top Answerer
Yes, just remember to wash it before eating (keeping it in water keeps it crisp, but isn't enough to get germs and dirt off).
  • Question
    Can frozen celery be juiced?
    Torpi
    Top Answerer
Frozen celery must be thawed before you juice it, but as long as it's thawed out it doesn't matter that it has been frozen.
  • Question
I left celery out of refrigerator for a week. Can it still be good?

That will likely depend on the room temperature and requires checking the celery and a taste test. If it is winter or the room is cold, then the celery should still be fine; just check for wilting, blemishes or deterioration and remove any parts that aren't looking good. If it has been kept out at a high room temperature, it may not be good to eat - check it to see if it's still firm, unblemished, etc., and try a small bit to see how it tastes.
