Are you trying to find a Red Snapper in Stardew Valley? This fish can be somewhat elusive due to the fact that you can only find it in the ocean during a rainy day in the Summer and Fall (or Winter, if you use a Rain Totem). However, Red Snappers aren't particularly hard to find once you do get a rainy day. Keep reading to learn how to catch a Red Snapper and everything you can use them for in Stardew Valley.

Catching Red Snapper in Stardew Valley

To catch a Red Snapper, go fishing on the Beach between 6am and 7pm on a rainy day in the Summer or Fall. If you have a Rain Totem, you can also catch them in Winter, and if you have a Beach Farm, you can catch them right on your farm.

  1. Red Snappers can be caught in the Spring or Fall during rainy days. You can also catch Red Snappers during the Winter if you use a Rain Totem. There are a few exceptions to this, however, though they require game progression or gold: [1]
    • If you have access to Qi's Walnut Room, you can buy Magic Bait that allows you to catch any fish regardless of the weather, time, or season. You can purchase Magic Bait for 5 Qi Gems, as well as the recipe for Magic Bait for 20 Qi Gems. [2]
    • Red Snappers can randomly (and rarely) be found in Garbage Cans during Summer, Fall and Winter.
    • You can also sometimes find Red Snappers for sale in the Traveling Cart for 100 to 1,000 gold.
