Remove the Corruption and Hallow with this easy guide
Download Article
If you've played some Terraria, you've likely come across a corrupted or "evil" biome in your world. Evil biomes will spread if they're not contained and cleansed, which can make the game much more difficult and potentially impossible if you lose a specific biome that you need resources from. You can begin preparing to stop this corruption before you enter Hardmode, though the real work begins once you've defeated the Wall of Flesh.
Things You Should Know
- Contain your evil biomes by digging a tunnel around them before you enter Hardmode.
- After entering Hardmode, start saving up for a Clentaminator, which will purify your biomes.
- Use Green Solution with the Clentaminator to get rid of Crimson, Corrupted, or Hallow.
Steps
Section 1 of 3:
Pre-Hardmode Preparation
-
Contain your evil biome before entering Hardmode by digging tunnels. Dig a tunnel three to six blocks wide around the entirety of the evil biome to contain it. By digging a tunnel this wide, you will block the corrupted blocks from spreading past it. You should do this before defeating the Wall of Flesh boss. [1] X Research source
- To ensure vines and thorns don't spread corruption past your tunnel, encase your tunnels in stone.
- While this is a vital step to keeping your corrupted biome contained, it can take quite a bit of time. You can speed it up by using Mining Potions, Slices of Cake, the Ancient Chisel, and the Deathbringer, Nightmare Pickaxe, or Molten Pickaxe to increase your mining speed. You can also use Scarab Bombs, Bombs, or Dynamite to clear large areas of ground quickly.
-
Plant Sunflowers to slow the spread of your evil biome. This method works in both regular mode and Hardmode, but becomes less effective once the corruption spreads underground in Hardmode. You can purchase Sunflowers from the Dryad for 50 Silver Coins.

Tips
- Completely eradicating an evil biome sounds tempting, but these biomes have certain materials that can only be obtained there. A better method is to contain your evil biome to one area that you can control so you can still get the benefits from it.Thanks
