Updating via Wi-Fi

- Select your Wi-Fi network.
- Enter your network password.

Select Check for Updates . You might need to select Yes to continue. If there's an update available, it will download automatically.

Updating via USB

Download the updated firmware for your TV. If your Vizio TV is not connected to the internet, or you don't currently have internet access, you can update your TV using a USB drive. You'll just need to download the updated firmware on your computer, save it to a USB drive, and use the drive to flash your Vizio TV to the latest version. Follow these steps to download the updated firmware:
- First, you'll need your Vizio TV's serial number, which you can find in one of these locations:
- On the back of the TV, printed on a sticker.
- Using your TV's menus: Settings/All Settings/Help > Admin & Privacy/System Information/TV information , next to "TV SN".
- In the Vizio app: Tap the right arrow next to your TV's name, tap the info icon (it's a circled "i"), and find the serial number. [3] X Research source
- Go to Vizio's Firmware Search site in any web browser.
- Enter your serial number and click Get Firmware Data

- If no firmware update is found, your TV may be too old to update .
- Click click here to be taken to the firmware download page for your model.
- Click Click Here to Download the Most Current Firmware Version and follow the on-screen instructions to download.

Extract the .zip file to a USB drive. Inside the file you downloaded, there are two files that need to be saved to a USB drive . Vizio recommends that you use a 2 GB flash drive formatted in the FAT format . [4] X Research source
- On Windows, right-click the ZIP file you downloaded, select Extract All , click Browse , then select your USB flash drive. Click the Extract button to extract the files to the drive.

Factory reset the TV. To do this , press the "Menu" button on your remote and select Admin & Privacy > Reset to factory settings .
- If you have an older TV, you might need to press System or All Settings first.

Insert the USB drive once the TV enters setup mode. Don't plug in the USB before the TV is ready. Once you plug in the drive, you'll see a banner across the top of your screen that says the TV is installing the software.
- Your Vizio TV will turn off and back on again and display a progress bar. Once the progress bar is full, the TV will restart again.

Verify the new update. Press the "Menu" button on your remote and go to System > System Information . The version next to "Version" (not "Cast Version") should match the updated version on Vizio's support site.
