Adobe Acrobat DC is a PDF tool from Adobe Systems. You can use it to view, create, and print PDF files. Acrobat comes with two different themes: dark and light. This wikiHow article will teach you how to activate the dark theme on Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
Use Dark Theme in Adobe Acrobat Reader & Pro
To mimic dark mode, go to Menu (PC only) > View > Display Theme > Dark grey, then change the page background color on your computer in Preferences > Accessibility > Custom Colors and choose a dark grey background and a white text. Changes made in "Accessibility" will not affect the printed page or other computers.
Steps

Open the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC app. Use the Start menu to easily find the app. If you don't have the latest version of Acrobat, download from get.adobe.com/reader/ for free.

Click Menu . It's in the top left corner of the app window and drops down more options.
- If you're using Mac, skip this step since View is in the menu bar at the top of your screen.

Select View . More options will open to the right.

Select Display Theme . More options will open to the side.

Select Dark gray . This option will change the UI to a darker color, but the canvas you're working on will still appear white. [1] X Research source
- If you want to mimic a more exact Dark Theme, continue on to the next section.

Select Menu (PC) or Acrobat (Mac). Either option is in the top left corner of your screen.
- This change won't affect the color of the page when you print it out or the color of the page when the PDF is viewed on other computers.

Select Preferences . You can also open "Preferences" directly with a keyboard shortcut:
- Ctrl + K on PC.
- Cmd + , on Mac.

Click Accessibility . It's in the menu on the left in the 2nd grouping.

Click the box next to "Replace Document Colors" to check it. Once checked, more options will be available.

Select Custom Color . You need to select this option to be able to pick the colors of your canvas. [2] X Research source

Choose a dark color for "Page Background" and a lighter color for "Document Text". Since pure white text on all black is harsher on the eyes [3] X Research source , you should aim for a dark grey background instead.

Click Ok . Clicking this closes the window so you can see the Dark grey theme with your colored canvas.
