Adobe Acrobat DC is a PDF tool from Adobe Systems. You can use it to view, create, and print PDF files. Acrobat comes with two different themes: dark and light. This wikiHow article will teach you how to activate the dark theme on Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Use Dark Theme in Adobe Acrobat Reader & Pro

To mimic dark mode, go to Menu (PC only) > View > Display Theme > Dark grey, then change the page background color on your computer in Preferences > Accessibility > Custom Colors and choose a dark grey background and a white text. Changes made in "Accessibility" will not affect the printed page or other computers.

  2. You can also open "Preferences" directly with a keyboard shortcut:
    • Ctrl + K on PC.
    • Cmd + , on Mac.
  3. It's in the menu on the left in the 2nd grouping.
  4. Once checked, more options will be available.
  5. You need to select this option to be able to pick the colors of your canvas. [2]
  6. Since pure white text on all black is harsher on the eyes [3] , you should aim for a dark grey background instead.
  7. Clicking this closes the window so you can see the Dark grey theme with your colored canvas.
