Calling someone in Vietnam from another country can be a tricky, expensive process. Luckily, if you have all of the right codes, it can be a lot easier. If calling through the phone, dial your country's exit code, followed by 8-4 and the mobile or landline number of the person you're calling. If you have access to Wi-Fi and have a Wi-Fi capable device, you can save money and effort by calling through an app.

When you want to call someone in Vietnam and you're in a different country, the first thing you'll need to do is dial your country's exit code in order to get the call out of your country. Press 9 and then the mobile number to call a cell phone. If you're trying to connect with a cell phone in Vietnam, you'll need to dial 9 followed by the service provider number and the 8-digit mobile number. Dial the city code and the local number to call a landline. After dialing 8-4, you'll need to enter the code for the city you're trying to reach, which will either be 2, or 3 digits, starting with digit 2. After this, dial the 7-digit local landline number. Get connected to Wi-Fi. Before calling, you'll need to get a device that has Wi-Fi capabilities, such as an iPhone. Try calling through Skype. Skype allows you to call or message fellow Skype users for free on computers, tablets, and smartphones. FaceTime is a free Apple video calling service. Go to your settings and click FaceTime to ensure that it's turned on, and then pull up the contact you want to call.
