When a man pulls away, give him space. Let him have time to himself to process whatever is happening. Then, at a later time, plan a conversation without distractions and ask him directly what is happening. It's important to put yourself in his shoes and see what he's going through so you get why he's behaving that way. Check if there's anything you can do to help or support him. Whether you like what might come out of your partner's mouth or not, it's important to just be there and listen.

Men may pull away for a variety of reasons, including if they think the relationship is moving too fast, they're not ready for a relationship or committment, or if you came on too strong. They may also be unsure of their feelings, unsure how to express themselves, or feel insecure or stressed out. The best thing to do when a man pulls away is have an open, honest conversation with him. Explain that you noticed him pulling away and ask what's going on. Let him know that you're not going to judge him and just want to understand where he's coming from.
