If you’re feeling sore after a long gaming session, chances are your posture is to blame. Using good posture has a lot of benefits for your performance in-game and your health IRL, and it helps you avoid health risks that could occur. We spoke with physical therapists Mayami Oyanagi and Claire Bowe to cover how to fix your posture , so keep reading to learn more.
Good Gamer Posture Checklist
- Place your feet flat on the floor with your knees bent to 90 degrees.
- Move your hips back into your seat and tilt them forward.
- Press your back fully against the backrest.
- Keep your elbows bent to 90 degrees and your shoulders relaxed.
- Move your head and neck directly above your shoulders.
- Position the monitor an arm’s length away so the top third is at eye-level.
- Place your keyboard and mouse within reach so your wrists stay straight.
