For instance, a child might describe stress as feeling like shortness of breath, a heart pounding, or something like a tummy ache. Encourage your child to speak through some of these difficult emotions, and offer language for the child to explore. You could also encourage your child to express their stress in different ways, like visualizations, breathing exercises, and drawing.
