    Expert Answer
Most trampoliners always look for the center of gravity first. Try standing directly in the center of the trampoline and jumping up and down. Notice your balance and whether you are shifting to the left or the right. Start increasing your height as you're comfortable, but I would recommend a minimum of 6 feet for an adult to complete a backflip or frontflip.
  • Question
Will this work if I'm only 11 years old?
    Community Answer
Of course. Eleven is a good age because you don't weigh much and can execute naturally fast rotations.

  • Question
Can I practice this on a bed?
    Community Answer
That would depend on the size of the bed and the bed's features. If the bed is really large and has no poles, raised bed-end, etc., then it might work. However, if it has obstacles such as a bed-end and poles, it is likely too cramped and you may fall onto or into these items and hurt yourself. Another option would be to pull the mattress temporarily to the floor and use that. Just be sure there is no furniture or sharp objects nearby.
  • Question
    How can I flip faster?
    Community Answer
To flip fast, you have to tuck your legs in. If the height is decreased to half, rotation speed increases by 4 times. If you gain enough speed, you could rotate 2 times.
  • Question
    What if I'm not flexible?
    Community Answer
Try stretching every day and practicing some basics. Check out some more helpful tips in this article about becoming flexible on wikiHow.
  • Question

  • Question
I'm doing a side flip - how do I stop doing that?

You are probably looking to the side while jumping. While doing the backflip, you need to see your feet go above your head. Focus on a fixed spot and keep looking there while doing the flip.
  • Question

It's best to start practicing on a trampoline because it provides some nice bounce that will help you achieve the height necessary for a backflip. Once you're more comfortable with the move, then transition to a mat.
  • Question

You could do a backflip off a ledge or a bank, and once you are more confident, move on to lower and lower ledges until you can do it on the ground.
