If these methods take too long you can also use a foam bun tool to make a quick bun. Pull your hair into a ponytail. Then, twist your ponytail around the foam piece and close the metal clasp.
  • Question

The better you secure it, the more it will last. Use any way possible. Bun nets that are often used for ballerinas are very good and can come with decorations or plain, whichever you prefer.

How should I tuck in the loose hair when I wear a bun?

  • Question
How can I make a hair bun with one hair tie?
    Community Answer
Hold your hair up (as in a ponytail) with one hand and twist it until you can wrap it into a bun, then hold it in place and use your other hand to put a hair tie around it and secure it. It may be a bit tricky at first if you have thick hair.
  • Question
How do you get your hair up like that? I tried 8 times and I still can't do it. I have bangs that are almost as long as the rest of my hair, and my hair is sort of short.
    Community Answer
If you have bangs, it'll be easier to tie a bun that is higher on your head so you can pull them back into the bun. Try hanging your head down and gathering all your hair to the top of your head, then sit back up again once you've gathered all your hair. From there, just follow the above steps for whatever bun you want. If you want to tie a low bun, you may have to bobby pin your bangs back if they don't reach the bun (unless you just want to leave them out). Whatever you choose, it is a bit tricky at first and you'll feel like it won't look good, but just practice a few times and don't worry too much about it because this hairstyle works even if it is messy!
  • Question
How long does my hair need to be to work when I am making a bun?

  • Question
How can I make a good looking bun with super curly hair?
    Community Answer
You can try doing a messy bun, which some people find to be fashionable. You can also try making a sock bun. Lastly, you can also try straightening your hair first, or using a smoothing cream or oil in your hair first; this will help your hair strands lay flat.
  • Question
I have a super long and thick hair. I've tried doing this so many times and it won't work. What can I do?
    Deijacobs426
    Community Answer
Maybe try wetting your hair or straightening it. Then put it in a bun. Also, you could use a rubber band to make sure it stays in place.
  • Question
How do I make it so it won't fall down so easily?
    Community Answer
You can secure it with bobby pins instead of a basic rubber band, and use a little hairspray. If it still falls easily, you might just have to fix it throughout the day.
  • Question
What if loads of hair is sticking out?
    Community Answer

How do I do a quick and easy hair bun if my hair is too short?

If your hair is shorter than your chin, then it won't be possible. But if your hair is a little longer than your chin, then try doing a ponytail and stop before you pull it all the way out.
  • Question

    Community Answer
Your hair might be short if it's curved around your face, but try straightening your hair before you do the bun.
  • Question
How does the hair tie hold on to my hair bun?
    Community Answer
Once you wrap your hair into a bun, you will be holding on to the end of your ponytail. The hair tie will keep the end of the ponytail attached to the bun.
  • Question
What do I do if twisting my bun doesn't work due to my hair being thin?
    Community Answer
If you have thin hair that is longer, you can double it over and then twist. Gather your hair like you would for a ponytail and hold it with your right hand. Grab the ends of your hair with your left hand. Now start simultaneously sliding your right hand out and away from your scalp as you use it to twist the hair, keeping one or more fingers inside the doubled over loop so that you can keep pulling the tail end in as you twist. Keep pulling and twisting until the ends of your hair have been pulled almost completely into the twist. Now wrap like you normally would for this type of bun.
  • Question
My hair is quite long and ends up wrapping around at least twice. How can I prevent this?
    Community Answer
Honestly, if you want the effect of a bigger bun, wrapping your hair twice is a good option. if you want your bun to appear smaller, try wrapping it around tighter.
