  • Question
How do I size a board to place under the cushions?
    Community Answer
Size it so it rests on the wood frame, not just sitting on the springs.
  • Question
Can I put a piece of board under the cushions to stop the sagging?
    Community Answer
Yes, this will provide additional support.
  • Question
How do I fix a sagging couch?
    Community Answer
You can try changing the foam underneath, or check if you have a warranty.
  • Question
Why is my couch, that is only two months old, starting to sag?
    Community Answer
Chances are the foam has merely broken in. New foam will soften with use. It will never feel exactly as it did the day you brought it home. It doesn't necessarily mean the foam is defective.
  • Question
If the sagging springs have come off the frame, what should I do?
    Community Answer
You should take it to a repair shop, because they may need to re-stretch the springs.
  • Question
What should I do if the leather cushions are not removable?
    Community Answer
Take the dust cloth off, release the fabric from the back and inside off the arms. The full seating area should then just flip forward to remove the foam.
  • Question
How thick should the wood be to reinforce the couch?
    Community Answer
Look at the wood size the couch was made with. This is a good gauge to use when determining wood sizes to use.
  • Question
If I add plywood under the cushions, will it tear the fabric underneath? Is there some way to prevent that?
    Community Answer
I have used a combination of 1/4 inch plywood with masonite glued to it, ending up at about 3/4 of an inch and creating a very smooth surface so the cushions won't tear or get splinters. Masonite is available anywhere plywood is, it is a very smooth engineered hardwood.
