  • Question
I have been friends with this girl for years. We took things to a new level and things went great when I asked her out. How do I tell others about our new status?
    Community Answer
It's just like having a boyfriend, expect it is just a girl. Don't worry about it!
  • Question
I have a friend who seems to be straight, but we're really close even though we haven't known each other long and our friends think of us as a couple. Should I ask her something about her preference?
    Community Answer
If you're curious about her preference, you should ask. If you two are close, then it likely won't be awkward. If you don't want to ask her directly, then talk to some of your mutual friends and see if they know. If you are into her, then you should see if she likes you back. You may never know if you don't ask.
  • Question
I am straight and she is also. What should I do?
    Iveza
    Community Answer
If you really are straight, then your feelings probably aren't what you think they are. However, it could be that you are bi; you should try and analyze your feelings for her and figure out if they are a true attraction.
  • Question
A girl I have a crush on came out to me as bi a couple of weeks ago. I am pan. I think she likes me, but we are both shy. What should I do?
    Community Answer
    Definitely ask her out.
  • Question
I'm pansexual, and I asked my friend (and crush ) if she was straight. She said yes after heisitating. Should I push her on it? Should I come out to her first so she knows it's okay?
    Community Answer
Don't push your friend into coming out if she isn't straight. She may not be comfortable telling you. If you decide to come out, make sure you trust her. If you ask her out and she rejects you, just move on.
  • Question
How can I tell my parents that I like my same gender best friend?
    Community Answer
First, you should know if they would support you. Do not come out to them if you know it would be unsafe for you. If you know they will be ok with it, just bring it up in a conversation casually.
  • Question
How do I deal with having a crush on someone who has a spouse?
    Community Answer
It is unfortunate when something like this happens, because there is usually no way for the person with the crush to win in this situation. I'm sorry, but you should just keep it to yourself, and especially don't say anything to your crush or their spouse. You could always talk to a close friend or family member about it if you feel the need to express your feelings. If possible, you may want to put some distance between yourself and this person.
  • Question
What if telling him/her that I like them ruins the friendship?
    Community Answer
You won't know till you try. If you're that worried, maybe ask them, "What if we were dating? If we broke up, would we still be besties?" or something like that. If it does, no choice but to try and move on.
  • Question
I really like my best friend - a lot - but she said she is 100% straight and I said I am too (so it wouldn't get awkward). I'm afraid to come out to her even though she supports the LGBTQ+ community.
    Community Answer
If she supports it, then come out; just tell her you were afraid to tell her before. It will probably help the two of you build a stronger bond. Don't tell her about your feelings for her. If she's straight, you can't change that. Focus your romantic feelings on someone else, and keep your friend as a friend.
  • Question
I'm in a friend group of girls and I have a crush on one of them, but I think she's straight. I'm afraid that if I come out as a lesbian to my friends they won't want me to be around anymore.
    Community Answer
Understand that if they don't want you there due to your sexuality, then that says something about them. You shouldn't hang out with friends if they don't accept who you are, that's what friends are for! Come out to them first, wait a little while, and if you still have feelings for this friend, let her know. Worst case scenario, she's not interested, no big deal.
  • Question
I am in a group of three girls who are all LGBT. I have a crush on one of them, who has a crush on the other one. The other knows who I like and likes the same person. She is very obvious about it. What should I do?
    Community Answer
Be open with all your friends. Honesty can help you sort everything out.
  • Question
My friend and I are super close and she is really touchy feely with me and I have a crush on her. I joked about us dating once and she said no, she is straight. Should I tell her or try to get over it?
    Community Answer
Tell her and be honest, but do not be disappointed if she says no. Just tell her you want to still be friends.
  • Question
I've been in love with my best friend for years, and now she's asking me who was my unrequited love, do I tell her?
    Community Answer
If she's your best friend, she probably has some idea about how you feel, and she might be trying to get you to admit it. If she knows you like girls and she's fine with that, I think it's okay to tell her. Just be honest, tell her you don't want anything to change between the two of you, you just wanted her to know how you feel.
  • Question
I'm not out, but my friend just asked me if I'm straight and I told her I'm not. She's also gay and I think I like her. I think she likes me back, but how can I find out without hurting our friendship?
    Community Answer
Text her and ask her, or ask a mutual friend if they know if she has any crushes. In most cases just having a conversation about it isn't going to hurt the friendship. It might be a little awkward at first, but things would most likely go back to normal.
  • Question
There is this girl I have known since fifth grade, and every time I see her I can never stop staring. I do like boys, so I'm not sure if I'm bisexual.
    Pillowpig
    Community Answer
Maybe, maybe not. It's completely okay to be bisexual. Could you ever imagine yourself in a relationship with her? Try to identify what you are feeling when you are staring at her. Is it attraction or are you staring at her because you think she's pretty but you have no desire to act on those feelings? Take your time and think it through, and keep in mind that it's perfectly normal for straight people to have the occasional same-sex crush.
  • Question
I just told my friend that I like her and she says she likes me back but she doesn't want to be in a relationship because it will eventually end. What should I do?
    Community Answer
Talk to her and tell her that it will work out. Also, reassure her that if it doesn't work out you will still be friends because you had friendship before love.
  • Question
I don't know if I like my same-gendered best friend. I think she's straight, but I'm not sure about me. We both currently have boyfriends, but people ship us and we aren't opposed to the idea of it. What does that mean?
    Community Answer
Before thinking about whether or not she's gay or even bisexual or pansexual, you need to take the time to know what your sexuality is. Do you like the same sex as much as you like the opposite sex? Do you only like one of them? You need to know this in order to move on to the next matter. Take your time. After you know this, find out if you like her or not, but do not assume you're either this or that just because you think you like your friend or even the other way around. "Since you like the same gender, you obviously like you friend" -- no! From here, whether you like her or not, you should talk to her about this subject and find out what she thinks about it and how she feels.
  • Question
I like this girl, but she says she's 100% straight. I'm afraid to talk to others about this. A friend of ours ships us, but I don't know.
    Community Answer
You can't change her sexuality. She said she was straight, and there's nothing you can do about that. You will have to try to get over this and find a more appropriate crush.
  • Question
My best friend (and crush) came out to me as bisexual a few weeks ago, and I am bi too. Is there a way I can trick her into telling me if she likes me or not?
    Community Answer
You could ask her if she has any crushes and see how she reacts. If she blushes or acts like she's not sure she wants to tell you, that could be a sign that she likes you. You could also come out to her and see if that causes her to admit any feelings, or you could just be straightforward and tell her exactly how you feel.
  • Question
I'm in a relationship with a boy, but a girl likes me, and I'm bi. She has a boyfriend too, what do I do?
    Community Answer
If you're already in a relationship, and you're happy in that relationship, you shouldn't break up just because someone else likes you. Be loyal to your boyfriend and tell her to be loyal to hers. If you're not happy with your boyfriend, or if you think you'd be happier with this girl, then break up with him.
  • Question
She said she liked me, but I am not sure if she meant just as friends or something more. What do I do?
    Cassia Dornford
    Community Answer
Ask her. Say something like, "Hey, when you said you liked me, did you mean as friends, best friends, or something more?"
  • Question
My best friend just told me she has feelings for me, and I sometime think I might have feelings down deep for her and would like being her girlfriend. But I don't want to complicate things or hurt the boy I'm dating. What do I do?
    Community Answer
It isn't good to stay in a relationship just because you don't want to hurt the other person by leaving. And, unfortunately, love often is complicated. If you truly like this girl, then the best thing to do is to tell your boyfriend that you have developed feelings for this girl and would like to pursue them.
  • Question
I am pansexual and my friend (crush) is too, we cuddle a lot and she makes me feel like nobody else. The problem is that she already has a girlfriend and she loves her so much. What do I do?
    Community Answer
If she has a girlfriend and she's happy with her, you shouldn't do anything to try to come between them. If you care for her, you should respect her relationship. Even though you probably don't want to, you should stop cuddling with her. If you don't, it will make it much harder to get over her. Find another crush.
  • Question
Most of these things apply to my feelings for my best friend. She likes to be near me and hold my hand and I really enjoy it, more than friends should. She knows I'm gay but I'm scared of telling her. What do I do?
    Community Answer
Just do it! You'll never know until you take that leap.
  • Question
I've been in love with my best friend for almost a year now, and recently her brother encouraged her and I to be a couple. She's a very distant and quiet person and I can't tell if she actually likes me, what do I do?
    Community Answer
If her brother encouraged it, she may or may not have wanted to get together. You should try spending time with just her, and ask her how she feels about you.
  • Question
What if my best friend is gay, but doesn't like me?
    Community Answer
Not all gay people are attracted to each other, just like all straight people are not attracted to each other. Try to be happy with just being their friend, and find someone else to date.
  • Question
I'm 13 and had a girlfriend, but broke up with her because I didn't feel comfortable with the relationship. I still feel like I like her, though. Help?
    Community Answer
Give it a week and see how you feel. During that time, make a pro and con list for this relationship. Write down the reasons you were uncomfortable and try to figure out if these things can be worked out or resolved. If you know deep down that she's really not the right one for you, let the relationship go, even if you still like her. Sometimes we like people that are not good for us, and we have to make difficult decisions that are ultimately for the best.
  • Question
What do I do if I developed feelings for my roommate?
    Community Answer
You can just be honest with them and tell them, or you can try to find something else to spend your attention on.
  • Question
If my best friend had a dream about me asking her out, and I can't get the thought out of my head, do I like her?
    Community Answer
You might have a crush on her. Maybe the thought of you and her together makes you happy. If so, you're probably at least a little interested in her. But if the thought makes you upset or weirded out, you aren't into her. I would say that you should do a little soul-searching to see how the thought makes you feel.
  • Question
My best friend, who I believe I'm crushing on, drew a picture of us, saying that if I was a guy, she would totally go out with me. How should I feel about something like that?
    Community Answer
If she doesn't know you're attracted to girls, it likely means that she likes you. If she knows that you're attracted to girls, likely she doesn't like you as a crush, but likes you as a friend. If you really want to know, just ask her. Start out, if you haven't already, by coming out to her, and see where the conversation goes from there. Through all this, make sure you consider her feelings as she may be shocked, confused, scared of coming out, etc. Regardless of any of this, you should take this as a compliment.
