Make sure you have your firewall turned on so it can prevent access to your devices. Also make sure to avoid signing onto anyone else's WiFi network and stay off public Wi-Fis subscribed. Make sure your home WiFi network has a strong password that isn't easy to guess, and don't give it out to people—they might feel really "generous" and share it with others. Make sure your router is sufficiently up to date and protects you from any bugs or viruses that make computers vulnerable. Finally, keep your operating system patched and up to date.

Windows updates will typically keep those drivers up to date. You can also go to Nvidia's website: go to the "Downloads" areas and identify which card you have—once you find it, click on it and install the latest drivers. Nvidia also has an optional service called the "GeForce Experience." It will automatically notify you when the latest drivers are released so you can download them ASAP.

My laptop is brand new, but is a slow as a snail in mud. Why and how do I fix it?

Unstall programs and make sure that your laptop is updated with the latest software. Also, if you transferred a lot of old files, photos, music, etc., from a previous computer and you're already chewed into the new computer's storage in a big way, this will have some impact on its speed and you might prefer to transfer some of that onto an external hard drive.

Try restarting the machine first. Check the amount of storage space taken up on your C drive. A good rule of thumb is to leave 15% of a hard disk drive free; for example, if you have a 256GB C drive, you should at least have 38.4 GB free for optimum performance.
