  • Question
I am 20 and am principal of a dance school which is one of a larger group. As I have no formal qualifications can I open my own dance school?
    Community Answer
It is best to be certified to teach dance as if you are not certified you will not be allowed to enter students for exams. Often dance teaching courses require a minimum level attained in the syllabus you wish to teach (for RAD ballet exams, for instance, this is at least a pass at Intermediate level). If you have not met these criteria, you will be unable to participate in a training course.
  • Question
How much money could I earn if I start my own dance studio?
    Community Answer
That really depends on your entire budget plan: whether or not you are the only dance instructor, if you have others on your payroll, how much you take out for taxes, how much you charge your students, offer dance workshops, etc. If you have a certain goal, base your budget plan off your goal. And if you do not like doing the math, find someone like an accountant to assist, and give you a better overall financial picture. Example: I want to earn "X" amount of money every month.
