How do you see if it’s world star, or Bowser or anything else?

On your map, you'll be able to see what world you're currently in if you look at the top left corner. Worlds 1-6 have a number, but worlds like World Star and World Bowser will have a symbol instead.

How many worlds are there?

In the main game, there are 8 worlds -- worlds 1-6, World Castle, and World Bowser. Once you beat World Bowser, you'll be able to unlock a special world, World Star. Once you beat World Star, you'll be able to move onto the second special world, World Mushroom. There is one final world, World Crown, but you'll need to complete all the previous worlds 100% and get all the collectibles in order to unlock it.

Collect all green stars and stamps in every single level. There are a total of 380 green stars and 85 stamps in the game. If you get get every single one, and get the very top of the flag on every level, congrats! You've just 100% got the game.
