You use the place holder symbol. It's similar to how in Korean, the circle "ieung" acts as a place holder, but in Elvish the place holder is simply a straight line going down, followed by the rest of the word.

If I just take the alphabet and write using it with English spelling but Elven letters does that translate, or is it a much bigger challenge than that?
