The Ancient Language is a fictional language of magic from the world of Eragon. It was initially spoken by the Grey Folk, who bound the language to magic, and was later reintroduced by the Elves. Anything spoken in the language is unquestionably true - although it is possible to apply the meanings of words, and leave enough loopholes, in such a way as to be essentially lying. The name of the language is only known to a few, and is a word of great power - names in the Ancient Language give power over the named, and the name of the language gives power over the entire language, magic, and all who use them.

Warnings
- Any person's true name is not absolute. Since your true name describes you, you can change your true name by changing some aspect of yourself (usually an aspect of your personality). Any oath in the Ancient Language involving a person's true name can be negated if that person manages to change their name. Thanks
