  • Question
I have bay windows with blinds, but I want to put curtains up to keep the light out at night and in the morning. Can I do this myself?
    Valrine Vernon
    Community Answer
If you can sew, yes you can do it yourself. However, if you want to close out maximum light, your best bet is to hang the curtains or draperies across the front of the bay, from wall to wall. Your overlap on the wall should be at least 4" on either side. Also, it is better to install draperies, since they are lined, they will block out more light than curtains will. Finally, you will need to install a rod that is as close to the surface of the wall as possible.
