    Community Answer
Drink water and take deep breaths in and out (many people's yawns come from lack of oxygen).
  • Question
I exercise, I'm physically fit, and I sleep seven hours a night, but I'm still sleepy all the time. How can I avoid this?
    Community Answer
Often times we underestimate the amount of sleep we need. 7 hours, although recommended by the mainstream, is not always enough. I recommend 9 hours at least. Stress and boredom also can make you sleepy. Try incorporating some yoga and/or meditation into your routine in addition to increasing your sleep time if you can. If all else fails, get checked for narcolepsy.

This really is requires a long-term plan. Sleep well by going to bed the same time every night and getting up the same time every morning. Create a routine so your body knows when it will sleep and when it will wake up. It will gradually adjust its rhythm to your routine, and you'll wake up feeling more refreshed and active, reducing weariness. Research seems to show that yawning is a way to cool down the brain, so if you can achieve that in other ways, you may also reduce the need for yawning.
  • Question
How do I stay awake when I have to study at night?
    Community Answer
Have a cup of coffee. Take frequent breaks to splash water on your face, hands, and feet. This will wake you up. Don't study in cozy places like a bed or a sofa, sit in a straight chair at a table. Make sure you still get plenty of sleep, or you will have a hard time remembering what you studied.

Your body is signaling you that it's time to sleep, so it would make sense that as you're falling asleep, you would yawn more, as you are the most tired.
