    Expert Answer
If the date of the event is approaching and you have guests who haven't RSVP's yet, call them and say something like, "We're so excited to have you, but we just want to make sure we have the final headcount for the meal. Do you think you'll be able to make it?" That way, it's more of a warm conversation, but you'll still get the information you need.
  • Question
If we're planning on hosting a monthly dinner party, should we split the costs?
    Community Answer
It depends. I would recommend talking to the people that you plan on inviting for the party. Let them know that this is something you would like to do regularly, and then let them know that you're considering sharing the costs amongst all members. Let people give their input and then make your decision from there.
  • Question
How how are wine, cocktails, etc handled for the guests. Do they bring their own and carry the bottle around?
    Community Answer
This is up to the host. Guests may each bring a bottle of wine for communal consumption, for example.
  • Question
How can I do this if I don't have a lot of friends?

    Community Answer
Invite any friends that you do have, and tell them to invite their families. This is an easy way to increase your guest count.

    Community Answer
Hosts do attend the other courses, but they might want to leave the course right before theirs a little early to go home and prepare.
