really big<\/i>. Huge. We're talking billionaire status. If you keep it up, you just might get lucky.

Let's be real, though, it's not easy to become a billionaire, and you're gonna need more than smarts and skills to make it happen. It's also game of luck, and luck either strikes or it doesn't. We won't make any big promises, but rest assured that even if luck doesn't make you part of the 1%, you've still got what it takes to live a comfortable, fun lifestyle. Keep it up, and you'll go far!

In the meantime, here are some money-making tips:

How much is a million, anyway?

When we talk about millionaires and billionaires, we all know that it means they have a lot of money, but it’s hard to wrap your mind around how much that is, exactly. What does it actually mean to have a million of anything, let alone dollar bills? Well, consider this:

There are 60 seconds in one minute. There are 3,600 seconds in an hour. There are 86,000 seconds in a day. One million seconds is equal to 12 full days. One billion seconds, on the other hand, is equal to 32 years—that’s 11,688 days!

On that note, 1 million minutes ago was just 2 years ago, but 1 billion minutes ago was all the way back in about 100 AD.

But that’s abstract, let’s get physical. A single golf ball is about 1.5 inches in diameter. That means that about 8 golf balls make up a foot, or 12 inches. It’d take about 24 golf balls to fill a cubic foot, or a small box. It’d take about 41,500 golf balls to fill an average bathroom. It’d take about a million golf balls to fill about half of the Statue of Liberty. Just half!

Let’s bring it back to money. The federal minimum wage in the United States is $7.25 an hour. If you work 40 hours a week (full-time) at minimum wage, you’d make just 290 dollars, and that’s not including tax. In order to make a million dollars while earning full-time minimum wage, you’d have to work for 137,931 hours. That’s 15 continuous, nonstop years of work. And to make a billion dollars? That’s 15,745 years. Of course, if we were just going by those numbers, there’d be lots of millionaires, but you also have to pay rent or a mortgage, taxes, and other expenses, and live a whole life outside of work, resting and making friends and all those other things that make life worth living.

We’re not saying all this to discourage you. You probably already know that getting a million dollars ain’t easy. It’s estimated that only 1.5% of people on earth have that much money. But it’s helpful to know exactly how much money that is, and what it’d take to get it. Next time you hear about a millionaire, or even a billionaire, stop and ask yourself, How did one person get so much money?
