Hi everyone, the admin. people, just to let you know that I just reported a lot of duplicates on the “Suggested Topics To Delete”. You may want to look into it.:slight_smile:I am sure those requested articles with a bit different looking title have their duplicates in the database too.

Yes, I really agree.

Yep, I agree with Mike and Laura.

Hey Laura, I took a look at it and have deleted them:slight_smile:Thanks for the reminder! Note to admins : If you spot something I did wrong during the process, please let me know.

Thanks guys @HowtoDrawStuff , @Imaginationoriented and @Shinako . Thank you for deleting them, dear.

@Shinako , I added a few more duplicates to Suggested Topics to Delete. Check them out, pls.

Hey @Laura7491 , Thanks for adding some more! I deleted the first two but I’m confused about the last one. I’m gonna quote the sentence :_Requested article “Delete the toolbar history for free” is a duplicate of a requested article “Remove toolbar history” and should be deleted._Both the titles look different to me since the first one includes “for free” which specifies a way of carrying out the process while the other one does not specify something like that. But, this is just what I think…I want to know what you and the other guys think before taking any step:wink:

According to the wikiHow title policy, two titles are only the same if they are interchangeable in all cases. In this case, since one title is more specific than the other, they are not the same thing. Oppose deletion. Good catch @Shinako !

Thanks @Mrappbrain

Guys, @Mrappbrain and @Shinako , ALL of the history in ALL toolbars are always deleted for free. There is never a penny paid for deleting a history. It’s exactly the same effect and procedure, just one unnecessary word is added… . Well, it’s up to you, but this is absurd. That is exactly why we have so many requested articles, that a title is slightly changed, and a good 50% of them will never will be answered.

I’m still not convinced. I delete my toolbar history often, but I don’t think removing toolbar history and deleting it for free is the same thing. Removing,Imho is transferring it to some other folder, since I may want a backup, in case I change my mind. When we boost articles in NAB, we are always reminded that suggested topics should never be deleted as dups unless the titles are exactly interchangeable. I think that rule applies here. The great amount of article requests we have is really not a problem. In fact, I view it as a good thing, since it shows us how far from an exhaustive manual we are. It also gives writers a lot of ideas to write on. Unlike rc, I don’t think having thousands of article requests is a bad thing. I do not agree with you on the answering issue. In my opinion, more than 80-90 % of them will be answered, in due course of time.bIt might take years, yes, but it will eventually be answered.

OK, @Mrappbrain … I appreciate and respect your opinion.

I am back to show why I added another duplicate article to the Suggested Topics to delete. The requested article : “Install Thunderbird Add-ons” means the ONLY one procedure that is exactly described in the existing article “How to Install Add-ons to Mozilla Thunderbird” which has slightly different title. But the procedure is one and only one of how to do it. Any other attempt to create a new article to answer a request is going to be a duplicate and will be nominated for deletion.

Hey I just wanted to say this, we should have more then one of the same article, because someone could have different and better ideas that could help the site.

A wiki works best with o my one article per topic. If anybody has a different idea on accomplishing the same thing, it can be written as a new method. It is better to have one-high quality article on a topic than to have several poor quality articles.
