According to @Krystle , more readers or looking at pictures. http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/1087/new-stats-more-readers-looking-at-images-/#Item_5 The number of articles still needing images is (as of 3:29 PM Mountain Time 6/13/11) 29,140! If more readers are looking at images, why not have some pictures for them to view? Help us appeal to the reader’s eye with Image Adder! Together, we can reach 0 articles! (or at least until it says all clear). Thank you!

Ok. I don’t like adding images because the images don’t EVER have to do with the article.:stuck_out_tongue:

The first image that comes up doesn’t always match an article’s content exactly. You can choose a more fitting image by being specific in the image search bar.

A few things I do that help me in adding images: 1. Multiple searches - I brainstorm different ways of saying things or what kind of image fits the article. 2. Reading the introduction and if that fails skimming the article - The steps can give me ideas for article pictures, especially if the topic is about something really broad like curing a headache. 3. Googling. I find it helps to google if I don’t know a certain term used in a title or don’t know what something should look like (Google Image Search). 4. Skipping if you can’t find a good image. I do this a lot and I think it’s preferable to having a lot of inappropriate images that need to be reverted.

@JKL1234 This article explains how to find better images: http://www.wikihow.com/Use-the-wikiHow-Image-Adder-Tool @Elocina - That’s some sage advice right there! I incorporated it into the article: http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Use-the-wikiHow-Image-Adder-Tool&diff=6202803&oldid=6134731

I remember the days when over 90 % of the articles had absolutely no pictures whatsoever.

@elocina has some great tips. Never tried googling it. Don’t know why I never thought of it!

Another thing I recommend doing is that if it’s an article that needs step by step photos (like a craft where you can find a picture of a finished product), use the photo/image request form.
