Because of the browser I use, I cannot use the drop-down panels to do things like editting or even getting to the page to edit my preferences. Is there a dashboard or alternative link I could use to access those pages?

@Nate848 You put links in or text, or both, and it shows up on the right hand side of every wikiHow page you go on (except the main page and special pages). Basically, it acts like a stationary internet browser bookmark area for wikiHow information, links, template codes, and shortcuts.
