I have noticed some new articles in NAB using the __LIST__ and __QAM__ formats. I want to use this thread to get information on best practices for using these keywords so they could be added to the Writer’s Guide. I want to make sure that we do not use these magic words on articles that do not need or that would not benefit from the formats, as well as make sure that we get effective use of these new formats.
Pinging @JayneG
(staff) as she would have some general guidelines that we can use as a starting point that the rest of us can build off of.

To my knowledge, these formats are technically still experimental (although I know the scale they’re being rolled out at might not suggest that!), so we wouldn’t be at the point of integrating them into the Writer’s Guide. And last I heard, QAM format in particular isn’t as popular as list format, so we haven’t written guidelines for that one just because it might not stick around. Jayne already wrote out general guidelines for list articles in How to Write a List Article on wikiHow
, though, so that base is already covered

Thanks for pointing me to that article! I did not even know it existed. Or maybe I did but I could not find it in the forums.
Is this the starting point or the full guidelines?

Those are the full guidelines. Jayne and I actually collaborated on that page with input and guidance from the content team, so hopefully most editors will find it to be fairly comprehensive.

Ok great. Well, then, this thread can be locked as the issue is resolved.

Alex is right.
Not sure if non-boosters can post here, but… I also remember talking to Jayne, and she said that list format is most likely going to stay around, while Myth and QAM ones are pretty much just experiments. Jayne’s article is actually a complete guide to list articles.
