Ahhhhh, yup, that was pretty bad stuff.
Anyway, no harm done and you learned your lesson. June Days
Yurp, Avast is pretty good. If you have questions about computer security, let me know.
Ah, I was looking for an interesting antivirus program and I read this. Which version did you get, paid or free? And, what would your thoughts be on the free version?
Good to know. I got the free version today and it appears to be functioning properly.

First, antivirus does not stop “hacking” it stops viruses, sometimes malware, and sometimes rootkits. Second, I am not sure what your definition of “hacking” is but if we’re talking the type of “hacking” everyone complains about on Facebook where they forgot to lock their computer or logout from their accounts and someone posted “I’m Gay” under their name all over the place then there is nothing to see here. If we’re talking legitimate hacking or cracking on the part of the attacker you need to ensure your firewall is correctly configured, change all of your passwords (beef them up while you’re at it), and ensure you do not have the same password for your email as for anything else. (If an attacker gains access to your email they can simply “forgot my password” on all other sites you’re a member of so your email password should be the most secure.)

I would also like to add that it is STUPID to be without an antivirus in a windows computer.
I was stupid for a couple of months, then. Chrome does have a slight bit of protection, though, but it doesn’t compare to an actual program.

well, see, I don’t use cracked software and the slow down is better than having my computer ‘blow up’

you don’t have to be popular or common…viruses don’t CARE!
Yup. I like F-Secure when I’m on Windows (Which is never). I usually use Ubuntu, so there isn’t as much of a problem with malware.
