I’m not crazy about most of our language articles, but this one just makes me squirm. http://www.wikihow.com/Count-to-Ten-in-Swedish Let me (ahem) count the ways. It’s a duplicate of http://www.wikihow.com/Count-in-Swedish , which necessarily includes 1-10, but keeps going with other useful information. The pronunciations given are unclear and in some cases, outright wrong. Seven, in particular, is not something easily transliterated into English. There’s a sound in Swedish that isn’t in English at all, and you’ll find it in ‘sju’. It certainly doesn’t sound like anything that selection of letters is going to result in an English speaker uttering. I could point to open-source, native audio pronunciations of the numbers if I knew how to include them. What’s the point, really, of the Swedish flag in the images? Or really, of the images at all. (Or perhaps we missed that Swedish is also spoken in parts of Finland.) I’d be happy to try to improve this article, but I’m not sure I even know where to start. Any thoughts?

Native Swedish speaker here. First of all, I do not get why there are those huge flags for each and every step - I simply don’t see the benefit. If a small flag (or two: Sweden and Finland) were used in the introduction I wouldn’t have objected, but presently they only steal screen real estate. Over and over again. As for the audio, what are the procedures for including that in articles? I am pretty certain Wikimedia Commons has audio files for all these numbers, but if they can’t be linked, is it then at least possible to transfer them in a simple manner? I do think that audio is needed for language articles. I can only think of two other methods to provide pronunciation: IPA (or similar) or ad hoc transliterations. The first is accurate, but not widely understood; the second is fails whenever English lacks the sound in question, as in the case of the Swedish so-called “sj” sound.

The flag images are pretty silly. I removed them:slight_smile:I think linking to the audio files would be reasonable, and quite helpful.
