wikiHow’s 4th redesign is now starting. As an initial point, our designer created some “mood boards” for us to react to. Mood boards are not a template for a redesign! They are just a way to show various colors, themes, button designs so people can get a sense of what they like and don’t like. We won’t necessarily use all or any of the elements from any of one of these mood boards. But picking the right one, can help us get a sense of what “feeling” or “mood” we want wikiHow to have when we redesign it. I believe the redesign was based on a previous forum thread about how we can attract and maintain more visitors, a primary suggestion being focusing on usability and a recognizable site logo.

^ Eh, I don’t favor the kiwi that much. Perhaps a different a kiwi doing a different pose? Then again, I guess I’m the only one who doesn’t like it that much . . . . =)

It’s not the kiwi in itself that I don’t like (even though that does make wH seem New Zealand-y, though that’s not a problem), but the pose. I think kiwis are generally hairer than that, and it just looks kind of weird. :\

I don’t think a kiwi would make a very recognizable logo. Even Twitter prefers the “t”.

Here comes the time again to get used to a new layout… I was so confused last time when all the buttons jumped from the left sidebar to the right!:wink:I like the first and third images. And also the little stitches on the buttons. It looks nice!:slight_smile:

Do we have any OTHER color/theme choices? Blue, Green and Orange/red permutations are … um… er… -.- hard to compliment.

Not a fan of kiwi, nor am I a particular fan of any of the rather earthy color schemes…also, it appears the “creative notes” are all the same on the moodboards, are they supposed to reflect the individual board’s creative characteristics, or just the entire chunk of them (since to me, they look a bit alike)
