After a discussion about what the new wikiHow logo should be, I took the liberty of creating a poll: http://bit.ly/KnEIrD

Thank you for useing my idea for this.

Great, it’s a huge thing with a site-wide effect, we’ll want to see a lot of votes if it’s to be taken seriously.

I still think my idea needs more votes.

I smell bots.

To be honest, 2 hours ago, there was 9 votes for the kiwi. Up to 157? The only valid “poll” I would listen to is written opinions in the forums by valid accounts of regular contributors.

What is it with the Kiwi? Thats going to be a huge issue for me on here.

Really?

in two minutes there was 59 votes? I think it’s hacked… Yes. This votes are comming so fast! For example It was up to 193 and now it’s almost 300 in 3 minutes! Hacked!

That’s because I rigged it . I did this for a reason: so far, it has been very few, but very vocal, people who don’t like it making enough noise that it could be confused for there actual being substantial opposition to it, whereas the people who like it (and they are out there; I know several who simply don’t care to argue with the other editors about it). Well, this is what a small number of people (i.e. me) drowning out other voices by brute force looks like . Hope you enjoyed it! Also, the worst possible place to put a poll is on the forums, which a good number of established editors do not check with any regularity (I certainly don’t) but all the vocal opposition do .

I think your right. I was just looking too. It says that the Kiwi has 98% of votes, while everything else has 0%. Something doesn’t seem right about it…

I am not getting the problem with the Kiwi. It is wiki inverted, after all.

TBH, I kind of lean on both sides in the logo matter. I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with the kiwi; as far as I know it’s supposed to be just an innocent mascot to remember the site by. But, I also don’t know how the bird really represents wikiHow (besides being the word “wiki” inverted), at least as much as something like the old book and pencil logo or anything similar does. I’m all for it if it ends up making the final cut, but I definitely think it’d be cool to have a genuine variety of different logos to choose from (or at least just collaborate on).

Yes I had my point proven! But whats going to be the new logo then since all the votes were for the Kiwi because it was rigged?

Simple: No voting will take place. And it’s not really an issue you need to worry about at the moment, wait for wikiHow staff to bring it up.

CoffeeLover this poll isn’t going to be the ultimate decision. Here’s a new one by the way: http://bit.ly/KnEIrD

Yes?

Could the new one get hacked?

Considering the fact that it doesn’t remember computers, yes.
