In RC Patrol, when we make quick edits, sometimes I see the number above add up. I think that if quick edits are made, the edits add up, instead of decreasing. That makes more edits to patrol. If this really happens, the edits will never end.

Edits will “never end” no matter what kind of edits a person is referring to; any time of the day, any day of the week. Quick edits are equally in nature as to if someone were to click on the “edit” link; they’re just done while the person is patrolling… quick edits are basically modifications of the specific edit or diff a person is patrolling at the time. All edits are equal in patrolling - whether it’s a video addition, video removal, categorization, major edit, revert, etc.
I completely agree with @maluniu
. I would also like to add, Hailey, that quick edits are often made to improve articles. There are very many good patrollers on wikiHow, who can patrol those edits. Editing is a vital part of wikiHow’s quality improvement process, whether it is copyediting an article, formatting it, adding pictures or a video to touch it up, or just fixing a few typos. Those edits are patrolled, then more edits come, and they are patrolled, too. On wikiHow, it all gets done. Patrolling and editing are both
never-ending processes. Also, as Krystle says, a high backlog in RC is much better than a lot of vandalism or spam sticking on pages.
A premise of wH is that incremental improvements to articles, ultimately, make the articles very high quality. Every edit that adds value is a positive contribution and should be encouraged. I never hesitate to make even the smallest adjustment if I feel that it makes the article better. These are quickly approved and, perhaps, additional improvements are made during subsequent patrolling and quickedits. A redeeming factor of votebot is that the bot dredges up articles so that they are seen by fresh eyes and, perhaps, improved. It is a refining process through which, bit-by-bit, the articles become awesome.
