Feel free to share any people from history that you find interesting. Not meant for debates about who’s the best, just sharing. Some of my favourites: •George Washington (1st US President) •George III of England (even just the whole House of Hanover) •Louis XVI of France (the one that got guillotined) •Louis XIV of France (The Sun King) •Françoise d’Aubiginé/Marquise de Maintenon (secret 2nd wife to Louis XIV) •Sir Wilfrid Laurier (Prime Minister of Canada from 1896-1911?) •Ludwig van Beethoven (composer) •Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (composer) •George Frederic Handel (composer)
Marie Curie, did a project on her in fifth grade.
I just remembered, I did wrote a biography of Albert Einstein for a project in Grade 5. I don’t remember a lot about him now, but it was interesting anyways.
I have a similar situation when I was in fifth grade. I wrote a research report on David Livingstone. I became so enthralled by his life due to the process of writing the report that I did not mind my B- (if I remember correctly) on the report the least bit.
I always found William Wallace quite interesting. I remember learning about him and Robert the Bruce in primary. Edward Jenner’s story was also quite interesting. I also remember learning about him in primary. History is not my strongest subject but I remember enjoying learning about those two.
I like Gandhiji for his patience over aggressive approach, overall. And I love Hellen Keller and her most wonderful teacher Anne Sullivan very much for their grit and unconditional affection.
Donald Trump - President of the United States and financier of several businesses including an airline and hotel
Michael Collins (Irish hero in the war against the brits)
Peter, from the Bible. He was impulsive and reckless, like me, but he was also caring and forgiving. I am going to be a missionary when I grow up, like him, so I find it inspiring that someone who was so impulsive could become so wise and understanding.
Ida B. Wells, did a project on her
Robert Frost. He’s a great poet
