How long do you usually sleep each day??

About… 8 hours and a half. Why?

12 hours

Usually 5 or 6 hours on weekdays. 9 to 10 hours on weekends!

I sleep for 8 hours. 9 on weekends. Adults only need to sleep for 4 hrs, because each hour is double. Lucky adults.

^ Uh, I don’t think so. Adults need up to 6-8 hours of sleep. Four is way too short and will leave you exhausted.

No it will not, WikihowSaver. Every Adult I know sleeps even less than 6-8 hours, and they don’t feel exhausted at all. You might be confused because a lot of people rely on media, and media information isn’t accurate. If you visit reliable websites that actually have decent information, you will know the truth, like how the 5 second rule, when you drop food on the ground, actually isn’t bad for your health, but the media says it does. Don’t rely on media for everything. The don’t always tell the truth.

Well. he must be just one of the unlucky ones.

Uhhh, that’s what doctors say, not the media. So you’re saying the doctors don’t tell the truth? Are you an adult?

Yes that’s what doctors say. What? They went through 7 years of uni for nothing. At least they’re educated enough to help people with sicknesses and that.

I’m an adult, and while I can function with less than 7 hours of sleep, it’s certainly not optimal. I have plenty of peers that follow this same sleeping pattern, and while they would agree that they often sleep less than 6-8 hours, they most certainly would not agree that they don’t feel exhausted at all.

You also have to make up for lost time eventually or else you risk getting sick or hurting yourself while operating a vehicle. Driving while exhausted on sleep is (supposedly) about equivalent to operating a vehicle at 0.1 BAC. Your reaction time isn’t as good and you’re more prone to hesitate and make bad decisions.

So yeah, staying up late is cool while you’re in high school and you have your parents to drive you around, but it absolutely sucks when you’re an adult!

I don’t know where you got this information from, but it’s 100% not true.

Ok. Enough. Everyone has a different sleep pattern. Some sleep for 10 hrs, other 5. People can sleep for 4 hours because that is how their body function. If you don’t believe ( and there are some) check out this website to prove that 8 hours isn’t the magic number. www.huffingtonpost.com /dr-christopher-winter/ sleep_b_2084339.html.

By the way, driving while exhausted is equivalent to 0.05 BAC.

Just saw the website and it does not prove that an adult needs 4 hours of sleep without feeling tired. The article is just stating you don’t always need 8 hours of sleep, which is true. It’s just the number most doctors prescribe. If you sleep for four hours that’s basically a long nap.

Alrighty, folks. My sister’s boyfriend works in a sleep lab and studies sleep. There’s no “right amount” of sleep for everyone. The right amount per person is as much as he needs to wake up and feel refreshed and ready to go the next day. For some that may be just 6 hours, for others, 8-10.

I usually sleep 8-9 hours every night.

Alright. So barely anyone can have 4 hours of sleep. Everyone has different hours of sleep. Thanks Collie and WikihowSaver for that.

Not all media is inaccurate, the 5 second rule myth is bad for you if the floor you are picking it up from is very clean, I was taught that at school and I have talked to (in person) at least 3 other university/college professors and they say the same… I know that some sites are full of rubbish and others have the truth…

My dad doesn’t sleep very much at night… he keeps sleeping during the daytime and it is bad… he keeps complaining of major headaches and insomnia… I told him to see a doctor, he saw one and they prescribed him some medicine but it doesn’t seem to be helping:confused:

Well that depends…

If I am feeling sick or unwell, I stay in bed as much as possible :P

When my sisters are here, urm… what sleep? They are up practically all night, the only sleep I get is when they finally quiet down which is at midnight on ANY day of the week, regardless if they have school or not… or dad severely and I do mean severely punishes them and they go to sleep for once… which doesn’t happen often. It is much worse when they have friends sleeping over… but now they both have been banned from inviting their friends over for sleepovers, dinner yes as long as they walk home themselves or their parents/relatives pick them up no later than 6:30 pm

On other days when they are not here, I get 6 hours or more of sleep… if my dad keeps his TV down that is. I get plenty of sleep when I am at respite too, well sometimes it gets interupted by the fire alarm going off, drunk idiots making noise outside or Angie, one of their other residents who has severe epilepsy has an episode at night…  but usually it is quiet over there. :)

6 to 7 hours which is must for a better day.
