In RC patrol, we just see that an image was removed from that article during QC and in dff section it just removes the image and shows it to us. Then how we know that image is really not meant for that article, because during patrolling we can’t see that removed image?

I don’t know about the RCPatrol App but when I patrol using the regular Recent Changes and an edit like this comes up, I will click the arrow next to ‘old revision’ on the left and pull that up in a new tab. That will show the article prior to the image being removed and then I make my decision based upon that and close the tab once I’m done…
Hmmm… That’s true… The same happens for rolling things back, you don’t see what was rolled back. Concerning the Recent Changes Patrol App, this does happen. What I think is that you need 2 votes for a picture to be passed or deleted from Quality Guardian, along with being passed through Recent Changes Patrol once before, and having all patrols being patrolled by an admin. (Usually @Krystle
who does a fantastic job of it
If it has this much security, it’s unlikely too much image vandalism could get through, so it’s usually safe to mark as patrolled. Although, it would be nice to see the image that appeared before to make sure. It would make things easier. Thanks for this idea IamSH.

@IamSH
You should do what @Maniac
suggests. Click on “Old Revision” but make it open in a new window or tab. There you will be able to see the image that was removed.
Or, do you trust that the votes within QC are valid and just mark as patrolled. And if you do, could these edits be removed from the patrol?

Hey thank you all for your suggestions. I’ll prefer to check it first, then click on mark as patrolled. It doesn’t mean that I don’t trust on others’ edit, but why not I make sure that whether our readers are getting better experience for this edit or not? Am I right all of you?

Generally the tool is very effective at removing poorly fitting images. There is always the possibility though that two people voted carelessly and voted to remove an image that should not have been removed, so it certainly doesn’t hurt to double check via RC

I just came across this example and wanted to post it here because it’s relevant to what we were talking about…A good intro image was removed in Quality Guardian: http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Be-Confident&diff=6388692&oldid=6382200
When @ttrimm
saw this in recent changes patrol she looked at the image being removed and put it back: http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Be-Confident&diff=6388701&oldid=6388692
It is a really good image for this article and I’m not sure why it was voted against, but I’m glad Teresa double checked and put it back

Too often I have seen images removed that shouldn’t have been, so I always check.
