A new wave of what appears to be student articles is upon us! Close to 20 were created in the last 12 hours or so, and I thought this might be a good time to share some helpful resources with newer editors so we can all help these students out.

I also threw together a more detailed template in my userspace based on some of the common mistakes I found in this particular batch of articles. You can find it here:

I know I probably missed quite a bit, so please send any other resources that could help below and I’ll add them to this post. Hope this helps

@JayneG
how can you tell when an article is started by a student?
@ButterflyInTheStars
- maybe I can answer that. It’s because there’s been an influx of so many new articles (20 odd over a few days?), all on similar themes (mechanics/engineering), all by newish contributors. It suggests some kind of class assignment.

@Midnight_Dreams
is absolutely correct! Additionally, students are meant to note that they’re students on their user pages, but this group doesn’t seem to be doing that…
If you think they might be, but aren’t 100% sure, you can still send {{student}}, because it says “I’m guessing you might be working on an assignment for a college or school project. Is that right?”
