This might seem like a picky thing but it is really starting to get on my nerves. My notifications say I keep on having one new message when I don’t. This has happened to me before sometimes but this time it is running on for quite a long time. What can I do about this?

I can definitely understand it bugging you (no pun intended!)! Usually if a message notification is persisting like that, it’s because there’s one hidden “not yet seen” notification somewhere on your list, from a time when you got more than 5 notifications at once with a Thumb Up notification. If the system doesn’t think you saw it (either by checking your notifications tab or loading your Talk page, if they were only talk messages), it keeps letting you know
Can you try loading up http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Notifications
and clicking “More” to get down to the point where you first noticed the number? If there’s anything bold in there, that’s your culprit!
