‘Incomplete’ doesn’t appear to be a listed reason when nominating an article for deletion via NewArticleBoost feature. Well, at least, I didn’t see it. Am I blind or did it not get included for some reason?

I believe it is not included for the reason that all articles are considered incomplete until they are promoted. This is probably a partial explanation - someone may be working on an article that is not yet ready to be fully published (promoted), and deleting their article before giving them the opportunity to expand on it would be pretty shortsighted.

‘inc’ was deliberately removed from the list on February 17, 2015

Does this mean that we should not be tagging articles for deletion due to being incomplete?

@SarahB It’s okay to use it if you want to type it in manually, but it’s also not required - demoting incompletes is fine, too. You can check out Jack’s thread on it here:  http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/14749/a-one-month-experiment-for-nfd-for-incomplete-in-nab

And then the follow-up was here:  http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/15005/how-to-be-a-nab-superstar-hint-new-nab-features#latest   (At the time, we had that huge backlog of NAB so it was extra simple to order the way Jack’s talking about and clear out the many not-so-helpful topics).

Then we got to zero ( http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/17439/big-victory-nab-backlog-to-zero ), woo! So now boosting is more of a day-by-day thing rather than the big backlog… but definitely, demoting something that’s incomplete is totally fine (often more efficient), and tagging it if you feel strongly is fine, too:slight_smile:

Thanks @Anna , yes, I was adding the nfd|inc template manually through NAB then demoting it, I just had a bit of a wobble when I saw that @ Lojjik  said  that all articles are considered incomplete until they are promoted.

Thanks for the clarifications, guys!
