I was doing some NFD guardian and noticed that quite often, then NFD reason wouldn’t show up in the guardian, although the article does have an NFD tag placed on it ( otherwise why would it be in the guardian?) I managed to get a couple of screenshots of this situation: The Article : http://imgur.com/m5CS0bU

I’ve seen this happen before on other articles where the NFD reason was changed, as it was here. Not sure how or why this should happen, but I have noticed it before. http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Annoy-Your-Dog&diff=14167362&oldid=14167361

Seems like the reason the NFD here didn’t display right to begin with is the first placement of the tag, as {{nfd|stub}}: http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Annoy-Your-Dog&diff=prev&oldid=14167351
The NFD Guardian displays the first template that the article is nominated under (rather than subsequent changes – I’m guess that otherwise, an editor could probably keep their article “alive” a lot longer by continuously changing the code and date?). So in any article you see in the Guardian, it’s a good idea to check the article, the discussion page, and the history - as far as I know, that’s been a given since the tool was rolled out. The reason displayed at the top is the first applied one, but there are often multiple reasons, so check below, looking at the article itself, to judge it and its templates in its entirety before voting. Then you should be good to go
